Unauthorized Payments Reported on Koufu App: What You Need to Know

Up to 5 vaccinated people from different households can dine out from Nov 22; gathering size raised to 5 for all

Koufu, a leading food and beverage chain in Singapore, is under investigation following reports of unauthorized transactions linked to its Koufu Eat app. Users began reporting issues as early as October 2024, citing fraudulent activities tied to their credit and debit cards.

In some cases, users discovered their card details had been added to digital wallets like Google Pay without consent after using the app. Despite these reports, Koufu has clarified that the app does not store card details, as all payments are processed through the secure eNETS payment gateway.

The Singapore Police Force is actively investigating the matter, and affected users are advised to monitor bank statements for suspicious activity and report unauthorized transactions immediately.

Stay vigilant while using mobile payment apps and ensure your financial security.
